The UTFA Award for Academic Citizenship honours one to two individual members of UTFA in each academic year who have made a significant contribution to our understanding of the relationship between the University and public life -- whether by encouraging the positive engagement of academics in key social issues, or by working to extend democratic and accountable practices within the University itself.
Nominations for the award will be reviewed by the Membership Committee chair, two committee designees, and one member-at-large on the UTFA executive. The award is accompanied by a $1,000 prize. Nominees should ideally be from the broad membership, and not currently serving on the UTFA executive. The award will be presented to recipients at the UTFA annual general meeting in April.
